A while ago I was feeling anxious and decided to paint for a bit to feel a little more relaxed. I painted my anxiety, choosing colors I don’t normally choose. I filled the page with marks and flowing lines and let the colors bleed into one another.

When I was done, I felt a lot better. I felt relaxed and centered again. I only took about 15 minutes, but it was 15 minutes just for me and what I needed. When I looked at the artwork, I really liked it even though it represented a feeling that I didn’t really love.

A few days after I revisited the painting from a new perspective. This time, I saw it as abundance, the flow of energy, the fact that everything we need is out there.

I lit a candle, sat down with a pen, and added “the universe is abundant” over and over and over again. It felt so good.

I have it up on my wall now and love what it represents.

It represents the time I needed and allowed myself to breathe, paint, and recenter myself.

It represents not trying to fix how I was feeling, but letting myself feel it and work through it.

It represents allowing time to pass and looking at the situation with new eyes.

It represents the power I have to shift my perspective and the meaning I place on circumstances.

As I was putting it up on the wall in my studio, I had the realization that someone out there might need this message, too, which is why I’m sharing this story with you AND have made this print available to you for free here. I hope it serves you as it does me.

Sending you lots and lots of love.
